CHC is fully committed to training and equipping employees with the skills and competencies to enable them to develop and fulfil their roles within the Company.

Training and development is proactively managed in accordance with a structured CITB approved Training Plan. During 2009 the Company completed 620 approved training days for employees across the business.

CHC supports the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) and has recently received a Platinum Award for its commitment, achieving over 90% compliance. Currently 98% of our workforce has CSCS or CPCS cards for their relevant disciplines.

The Company has signed up to the governments Skills Pledge to actively encourage and support its employees in gaining the required skills and qualifications.

Fifty percent of site based employees have achieved a minimum of an NVQ Level 2 (Twenty five percent was completed in 2009). We have set ourselves a target of achieving a further twenty percent during 2010.
