CHC complies with the requirements of the Site Waste Management Plan Regulations 2008 on all relevant contracts.

CHC use the SMARTWaste Plan, a software package that has been developed by Building Research Establishment Ltd (BRE).

The Site Waste Management Plan software is completed on-line which easily facilitates the data input required for legal compliance and has the benefit of being a paperless system. Copies of each plan can be printed out and held as paper records if specifically required.

This method of developing and recording SWMPs helps go beyond legal compliance and drives forward best practice. It enables us to record site and corporate waste data and develop meaningful Key Performance Indicators.

The Site Waste Management Plan does not sit alone and is complemented by CHC’s Waste Management Procedures that are contained within the Company’s Integrated Management System.

These procedures give clear visual guidelines for compliance with all waste management legislation including the Environmental (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991.
