CHC site team donate their construction skills to local charity

11 May 2015

Members of the Cheetham Hill Construction site team working on traffic management improvements in the shipyard area of the BAE Systems site in Barrow-in-Furness, recently donated their time and expertise to undertake car park improvements for the Multiple Sclerosis Society's Furness Branch.

The MS Society's Furness premises were in urgent need of new white lining and a designated walkway. The lining work undertaken by CHC, with materials kindly donated by supplier Meon Ltd, has saved the charity around £1,000.

CHC was approached by MS Society Furness member, Dan Taylor, who said "I'd like to publicly thank Cheetham Hill Construction for painting the car park for the MS Society Furness. The lack of markings in the car park was becoming a health and safety hazard and our group was under pressure to have the work contracted. To obtain a good quality solution free of charge was a brilliant and unexpected outcome for us".

Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological condition, which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. The MS Society provides vital support and advice to those living with the disease and aims to raise money for research.
